Tiffany Dawn Soto, Master Sake Sommelier or kikzake-shi, has revolutionized the sake presentation and sales format in the U.S. She was the No. 1 selling sake sommelier outside of Japan in 2007 & 2008, and the lists she created nabbed that honor in 2009 & 2011. Since that time, she has curated 5 of the top 10 sake lists in the United States. Her programs have been nominated for James Beard awards, while her other beverage programs have received Awards of Excellence from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. With her penchant for sales, paired with her unique ability to teach in a fun and fresh manner, this fiery redhead remains a virtual staple in the nihon-shu community. Today she consults for a number of restaurants in the U.S. and abroad, continually striving to raise the bar in the realm of sake accessibility and diversity. She regularly teaches and hosts private and corporate sake seminars and events, and she has developed a significant fanbase in the Anime and Cosplay communities as a seasoned and highly sought after speaker at events and conventions all over the world. In addition to her consulting services she: serves on the Board of Directors for The Sake Institute, hosts three “Sake Safari” tasting tours to Japan each year, regularly judges for sake festivals and tasting panels, she hosts sake education and team-building dinners, and she is regular contributor to numerous news and entertainment publications.
